All Blacks come to Wales

A couple of weekends ago Mike and I went to Wales for the ABs' last match of their European tour. The game was great fun and the atmosphere in the stadium was really good. A bit of outrage that we didn't get the haka though! We stayed with my friend Rach and her partner Jay, from Wellington. Our friends Bec and Mike, who are currently in London, stayed there too, so it was a full, fun house for the weekend.

The Welsh we ran into when we went to the pubs later on were all congratulating us on the NZ performance. They're a funny bunch, but they really love their rugby!

Mum, Dad, Chrissie, Gel and Mike all went to Cornwall together for a few days and stayed at a lovely farmhouse B&B.

While Gel hung out in London and visited Paris with the folks, Mike visited his parents in Dartmouth. During his stay they put Vic and Dianne's boat PeeJay on the water.

Nice, on the French coast, was the last stop on our Busabout tour. We stayed in a hotel in the middle of town, rather than at a campsite. The beach was a 15 minute walk away, and we spent the couple of days here drinking red wine and eating cheese. Yum. We spent one of our days in Monaco, with its luxury yatchs and ferraris.

Our third and final Italian stopover was Florence. It was probably the most beautiful of the 3 cities (in my opinion anyway). However, it was here that we had a massive thunder storm. At least it cooled us down a bit, especially since this particular campground didn't have airconditioning or any of the other comforts of the previous ones. Poor us.

Here was also where we spent an hour in the middle of the night in the middle of town waiting for a bus with the rest of the Busabout crew.

After that we went to Rome. Ancient and interesting, but even hotter than Venice. We had to skip touristing early somedays to have a little laze by the pool.

Next stop was Venice, city of canals and gondalas. Very hot weather, narrow streets and bridges that lead to nowhere.

Munich was where we started our European Busabout adventure. Crazy lions in the middle of town

Last weekend Chrissie and Gel did a 10k charity run through Hyde Park. Here are some of the photos.

Mike and I went back to York for the May bank holiday weekend. We went out to the Air Museum to see Mike's grandad's plane from the war. We went up there on the motorbike, so you can see Mike with the planes in his motorbike gear. Fun.

At Easter Chrissie and Gel went to Dublin for the weekend. We visited Kilmainham Jail, the Guinness Brewery and went on a bus tour of the city.

Chrissie's been here for just over a week now. We've been to all kinds of places since she's been here, including Windsor Castle, the Tower of London, Spitalfields market. At Windsor we met a really nice warder, and saw the changing of the guard.
